The English seaside town of Brighton is in East Sussex, and has a population of about 160,000 (2010). It is primarily known as an important congress – and as England’s most popular seaside resort.

Brighton has something to offer for everyone: Historic buildings, lovely beaches, a lot of fun activities and great shopping opportunities. One of the most popular attractions is the entertainment center Brighton Pier (formerly Palace Pier). It is located on a long wooden pier jutting out into the sea, and is definitely one of Brighton’s most famous landmarks.

Another major attraction is the Palace Royal Pavilion, which exterior is influenced by traditional Indian architecture, while the interior is Chinese-inspired.

In addition, the stone-paved beach “Brighton Beach”, and the historic mansion complex “Preston Manor” is mentioned.

Otherwise, it offers a distinctive mood to wander around the narrow city streets of Brighton, commonly referred to as “The Lanes”. There are a number of interesting small shops and cozy restaurants.

The nearest airport is Shoreham Airport, located just outside Brighton – but it’s not far from Gatwick International Airport in London – which is 45 miles north of Brighton.
