Harare International Airport (HRE) is the largest airport in Zimbabwe and is located 15 km south of Harare city center.
The airport serves half a million passengers a year (2008), and has three terminal buildings.
Harare Airport was officially opened in 1957, and has several times been upgraded and expanded.
Approximately 14 airlines have direct flights from Harare International Airport to other destinations in Norway and abroad – including British Airways, Egypt Air, KLM and Emirates. Some of the destinations are Amsterdam, Dubai, Cairo and Johannesburg.
Harare Airport has a number of public facilities – including shops, restaurants, cafes, banks and ATMs, post office, currency exchange, internet access, medical center, pharmacy and duty-free store.
