Huddersfield is located in the central part of northern England, and belongs to the county of West Yorkshire.The city has just under 150,000 inhabitants (2011), and is situated where the rivers Colne and Holme meet.

Huddersfield has throughout history been known to be a market, but is now also a university town.

The village has a number of historic buildings – includingSt. Peter’s Church in 1838, the railway station and the town hall from 1847 from 1881.

The most famous landmark in Huddersfield’s Castle Hill – a protected archaeological site located on a hill above the city. It is also the 32 meter high tower “Victoria Tower” from 1899. The tower is open to the public during the summer, and from here you get a great view of the city.

Other popular tourist attractions in the city is the local history museum “Tolson Museum” and “Beaumont Park” – a beautiful park with such trails, lake and fountain.The park is located 3.2 km south of the city.

Otherwise Huddersfield offer tourists great shopping and a good selection of nightlife. The city’s oldest pub – The Parish – has been in operation since 1720, and recommended a visit.
