Namibia is a country in the southwestern part of Africa, along the Atlantic Coast. The country has a common border with Angola, Zambia, Botswana and South Africa.Until 1990, Namibia part of the South African Republic. Namibia covers an area of 825,418 km ², with around 2.1 million inhabitants (2010), the country is relatively sparsely populated. Capital Windhoek has about 315,000 inhabitants.

Other major towns in Namibia’s Walvis Bay, Keetmanshoop, Luderitz and Swakopmund. The landscape is mostly dry and dominated by deserts, savannahs and mountains, where the highest peaks reaching up to just over 2300 m

Among the wonders of Namibia must be over 100 years old Etosha National Park mentioned. Another popular tourist destination is Twyfelfontein in Kunene Region. There is a large rock carved with about 2000 characters, which is dated to a period of several thousand years –   from ca. year 1000 ADKr. and further back in history. The most visited tourist attraction in the capital Windhoek is an old fort from the late 1800’s. There is also Namibia’s National Museum itself.

Namibia’s main airport is Hosea Kutako International Airport, located 5.4 mil east of the capital.
