Porto Airport – “Francisco de Sá Carneiro” (OPO) – is an airport located 11 km northwest of the center of the Portuguese city of Porto.It is the third busiest airport in Portugal (after Lisbon Airport and Faro Airport ), and it serves over 6 million passengers a year.
Porto Airport was opened in 1945, and from here there are regular flights to numerous destinations throughout Europe. The company that operates most routes to and from this airport, the Irish low cost airline Ryanair.
To get from the airport to Porto center, you can either take the metro or bus Aerobus, which departs every half hour. It stops at all the major hotels. You can otherwise use regular bus or taxi.
If you want to rent a car in Porto, several international car rental agencies, their affiliates in the arrival hall of the airport – including Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt.
Porto Airport has a few restaurants, while selection of cafes and various shops (including duty) must be considered as well. There are also shops in the terminal building selling local products from northern Portugal.There are no hotels at the airport, but the selection of Porto is very good.
